Printing Industries of Michigan 2015 Corporation of the Year
Some may not know, but Ben Franklin is considered one of the original pioneers of modern day printing. Having numerous talents, Franklin was a man of both curiosity and spirit – not only was he a founding father of the United States, but Franklin also started many newspapers from the ground up during our country’s path to freedom. Because of this, the Printing Industries of Michigan honors Franklin’s legacy at the annual Ben Franklin Print Week Awards dinner each year. The event, held the week of Franklin’s birthday, is an opportunity for the industry to honor excellence for both a corporation and individual by showcasing their talent and innovation as it relates to the industry.
This year, Allied Printing Company was recognized as the 2015 Corporation of the Year. In celebration of the honor, Allied’ownership, management and sales teams attended the annual event on Tuesday, January 13th. It was a beautiful evening, and after a few words by Allied’s Chairman, Paul C. Zimmer, Allied’s President Dave Bader accepted the honor on behalf of the company. Dave noted that Allied has been successful because of its tenacity and solid foundation, and that the company has grown to become incredibly successful and strategic in targeting specific growth opportunities. His speech was electric and gratifying, and really captured Allied’s spirit. Here is a short excerpt from Dave’s speech:
“We have so many smart, creative, hard-working professionals employed in our industry. Tonight’s gathering is a testament to the drive and spirit that continues to exist in this great business we call Print. That is why I am confident that the Power of Print will not merely survive, but thrive, in the coming years.”
Dave gave nods to Allied owners Paul C. Zimmer and Bob Straub, who have inspired a legacy of innovation at the company since they purchased it in 1971 and 1982, respectively.
We are most grateful for our longevity in the Michigan print industry. It is often said that we are inspired most by those closest to us and that could not be truer. Our incredible team of hard working, insightful, and passionate employees is part of the engine that keeps us moving.
We’re rethinking ink and as we look to the future, Allied will continue to be an innovator in the industry, striving for excellence in every aspect of its business.
